Robert L. Niccum, 66, of 32 Boardman, died Saturday, Oct. 29, in Community Hospital, shortly after being admitted. He had been ill two years.
He was born in Grandville, Ind., and came to Battle Creek in 1947 from Dunkirk, Ind. He served with the Army in the European theater of operations during World War II. He was employed 26 years by the old U.S. Register Co. until it closed in 1973. Later, he was employed by Felpausch Food Center in Pennfield three years, retiring in 1984.
Surviving are his wife, the former Vivian M. Derome; a son, Larry Niccum of Battle Creek; daughters, Anita Nichols of Battle Creek and Leeta Willis of Owensboro, Ky.; eight grandchildren; sisters, Hazel Eggert of Vicksburg and Stella Farrell of Muncie, Ind.; and a brother, Paul Barton of Dunkirk, Ind.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Royal Funeral Home.
