Robert "Bob" Gene Benson of Rock Creek died Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Fairview Lakes Hospital in Wyoming at the age of 75.

Bob was born August 28, 1938 in Ladysmith, Wisconsin, the youngest of three children to Leslie and Winnefred (Tully) Benson. He graduated from Pine City High School and started his enlistment in the Navy shortly after graduation. After his enlistment he came back to Pine City where he met and married Carol Alguire on June 17, 1961. They made their home in Pine City and raised four children.

Bob spent 48 years selling cars. He enjoyed his job and made many friends throughout the years. He had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. He was a wonderful husband and father; always making time for his family. In his later years he loved spending time with his grandchildren and traveling with his wife. Bob will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Bob is survived by his wife Carol, children: Susan (Rick) Benson of Forest Lake, Sandra Benson of Pine City, Marc Benson of Green Bay, WI, Kirk (Nico) Benson of Pine City; grandchildren: Allycia (Adam) Auxier, Alexandra (Adam) Bernard, Rande Benson, Renee Benson, Rachelle Benson, Mikayla Benson, Connor Benson, Alexander Darlow, Taylor Darlow, Michelle Benson, Emma Benson, Reed Benson;

Great grandchildren: Jerimiah Benson, Jaidon Benson; brother Leslie (Janet) Benson of Rock Creek.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents Leslie and Winnefred (Tully) Benson, and sister Bette (Benson) Haavisto.

Memorial Services for Bob Benson were at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Pine City. A time of visitation was held one hour prior to the service at the church.
