Dorothy E. Driscoll, 86, of rural Kirkland died Wednesday, January 26, 2005 at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford. She was born September 27, 1918 in Shabbona, Illinois the daughter of George and Ella (Vallum) Olson. She married T. A. Driscoll on December 27, 1941 in Lee. She was a graduate of Northern Illinois Teachers College and taught in country schools for several years.
She is survived by her husband T. A. "Art" Driscoll of Kirkland, two daughters, Sue Driscoll of Belvidere, Kay (John) Blake of Rockford; a son Larry (Charlene) Driscoll of Kirkland; a sister Genevieve (Dale) Berg of Aurora; a brother Eugene Olson of Florida; six grandchildren, Amy Blake of Burlington, Vermont, Ben Blake of Madison, Wisconsin, Bradley, Brian, and Brittany Driscoll of Kirkland, Julie (Michael) Glendenning and two great-grandchildren, Drew and Anna Glendenning all of Davis Junction; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Harold, George, Vernon, Duane, and Stanley Olson.
She was a member of Kirkland First Lutheran Church. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 29th at the church with Pastor Carl L. M. Rasmussen officiating. Interment will be in South Grove Cemetery near Kirkland. A visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday at Quiram-Kirkland Funeral Home.
