Frances V. Baxley, 89, of Waco, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2007. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with the Rev. John Collier and the Rev. Ivan Ker officiating. Burial will follow in Robinson Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, at Wilkirson- Hatch-Bailey.
Frances Viola was born in McGregor, Texas, to the late Chester Arthur Williams and Sarah Annie Koepf Williams. She was a homemaker, a church secretary at Emmanuel Baptist Church, a clerk with Dependable Life Insurance Company and an office clerk at Cox's Department store prior to retirement. Frances was an active church member at Emmanuel Baptist, Beverly Hill Baptist and Parkview Baptist churches. She was a member of the Gideons International Womens Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Wilson Baxley, on July 17, 2000; and a son, Thomas Reese Baxley on November 20, 2000.
She is survived by her son, Douthit Dean Baxley and wife, Barbara; granddaughters, Denise Dawn Baxley and Melissa Dutton; grandson, Brent Baxley and his wife, Holly; great-grandchildren, Arron Spears, Amy Spears, Anthony Baxley and Arianna Baxley; great-great-grandson, Arron Spears Jr.; and many other family members and friends.
