ALLIE C. MCVEY, 94, of Germantown, Tennessee and formerly of Knox County, was born on November 6, 1905 to the late Rev. Lawrence Callebs and Mary Hale Callebs in Knox County. She died Saturday, July 22, 2000 in the Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. She was the owner and operator of McVeys General Store at Girdler before retiring.

On March 9, 1922, she united in marriage to Joe McVey, who preceded her in death on October 26, 1976.

Survivors include her daughters, Mary Ellen Bundy of Germantown, Tenn., Florine Bargo and husband C.A. of Pleasant View, Tenn.; her son-in-law; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; her sisters, Celia Jackson of Barbourville and Ernestine Bargo of Dayton, Ohio; her brothers, Ed Callebs of Cincinnati, Ohio, Sie Callebs and wife June of Piqua, Ohio, Jay Callebs and wife Amry Jane of Warren, Mich., Junior Callebs and wife Ada of Corbin, Clark Callebs and wife Betty of Hazel Park, Mich. and Matt Callebs and wife Thelma of Flat Lick.

Funeral services were conducted in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel, Saturday, July 29 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Jimmy Siler officiating.

Interment followed in the Tuggle Doolin Cemetery at Heidrick. Hopper Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements .
