WOODSBORO- Marie Dill Beard, 89, of Woodsboro, died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 1989, at Reeder Memorial Home in Boonsboro after an extended illness.
Born March 25, 1900, in Carroll County, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Agnes Warner Sprague. She was the wife of the late Glenn William Beard who died in 1963.
Mrs. Beard was a member of Rocky Hill Lutheran Church.
Surviving are four daughters, Elsie M. Beard of Woodsboro, Dorothy V. Sheeley of Emmitsburg, Ethel E. Hildebrand of Frederick and Betty J. Snook of Smithsburg; four sons, Marshall W. Beard of New Midway; Garland R. Beard and Glenn A. Beard, both of Mount Airy and Larry W. Beard of Taneytown; 22 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; three brothers, Marshall Sprague of Rocky Ridge, Clinton Sprague of Quantico, Va., and Edward Sprague of Union Bridge; and four sisters, Ruth Testerman of Owings Mills, Evelyn Haines, Esther Nusbaum and Armantha Crushong, all of Union Bridge.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday from Woodsboro Funeral Home of D. D. Hartzler with the Rev. Parris C. Beckhardt, pastor of Rocky Hill Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in Rocky Hill Cemetery, near Woodsboro. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. this evening at the funeral home.
