Richard L. (Bill) King, Sr., 86, of Columbia, passed away Monday, July 31, 2017, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, MO. A Memorial Gathering was held on Saturday, August 5, 2017, at the Elks Lodge, 4747 E. Elk Park Dr., Columbia, MO. Bill was born on August 4, 1930, in Columbia, MO, the son of Judd and Rose Heisler King. He attended Hickman High School and was a lifelong resident of Columbia. Bill also served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged. He retired from Nauser Beverage Distributing Company in Columbia, MO. Bill loved to fish, golf and was a heck of a pool player back in the day. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW and a 31 year member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks, Lodge #594. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Pat Barnes.
