Marianna was the daughter of Agricole and Albertine Favier.

Marianna and her sister were admitted to the Charleston Orphan House on 3/22/1860. In 1863, the children in the Orphan House were removed from Charleston becauseof the Federl bombardment. They were sent to Orangeburg and housed in a young ladies seminary (The OIrangeburg Female Academy which is now Claflin College). The building served as a Confederate Hospital until the end of the war. Marianna died there on 1/16/1865.
