Mr. Jewel Brown Johnson, age 80 of Smithville passed away Sunday, March 8, 2020 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.

He was born July 31, 1939 in Smithville, the son of the late Henry & Opha Redmon Johnson. Mr. Johnson was retired from Carrier Corporation and attended the Whorton Springs Baptist Church.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at 1pm from the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home.

Bro. Mike Carpenter will officiate with burial to follow at Whorton Springs Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday from 1pm-8pm & on Thursday, from 10am until the service time at 1pm.

Mr. Jewell preceded his wife, Mrs. Helen Johnson in death by only 2 days prior to her passing on Tuesday, March 10th.

Preceding him in death are his Parents, Henry & Opha Redmon Johnson. Son, Doug Johnson. Step Son, Dewight Cantrell.
Brother, Willie Johnson & 2 Sisters, Jo Dean Moore & Doris Braswell.

Survivors include 2 Sons, Terry (Judy) Johnson & Jeff Johnson all of Smithville. 4 Step Children, Bennie Cantrell of Smithville, Judy (Tony) Watson of McMinnville, Nita (Joy) Steakley of Coalmont, Dwayne (Barbara) Cantrell of Alexandria. Several Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Great Great Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews & Cousins.

In addition to flowers donations can be made to the Whorton Springs Baptist Church building fund in memory of Mr. Jewell.
