Mrs. Adkison died Aug. 2, 2007, in Longview.
She was born May 5, 1919, in Upshur County to Jack Monroe and Sarah Jane "Totsie" Fielden Patterson and grew up in Brumley community, where she attended local schools, graduating from Union Hill High School.
She married Ben Adkison in 1939. She was a homemaker and worked in defense plants during World War II. She attended Good Shepherd Hospital LVN School, graduating second in her class. She was awarded LVN Association Nurse of the Year and retired in 1984 after 20 years of service as a senior LVN.
She was a member of Greggton Missionary Baptist Church, the LVN Association and Green Street Senior Center.
Survivors include a son, Ben Michael Adkison, Longview, nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
