OBITUARY
Montague County Pioneer Dies - Saint Jo, Dec 5: JAMES NELSON AGEE, 74, retired farmer, died at his home 13 miles north of here Tuesday morning, after a short illness. Funeral services were held at the Shiloh Baptist Church Wednesday, conducted by Rev Roy Miller of Gainesville. Interment was in Abel's cemetery. Born in Pettis County, Missouri, on Dec 4, 1859, Mr Agee came to Texas, age 15, with his mother and brother, locating near Marysville in Cooke County. He married Miss Canzada Abel on Dec 23, 1880. He moved his family to the present homesite in 1895. He is survived by his wife, sons Tom, John, and Julian Agee of Saint Jo, Jess Agee of Elk City, Okla.; four (should be seven) daughters, Mrs. Ruth Rice of Carter, Okla., Mrs. Ollie McLaughlin of Texola, Mrs. Dolly Williams of Terral, Okla, Mrs. Minnie Howard of Floydada, Mrs. Myrtle Osborn of Lorenza, Mrs. S. V. Lough and Mrs. C. C. CARSON of Saint Jo, and brother John Agee of Nocona. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Illinois Bend and was one of the most prosperous farmers in the community.
