Jerry was the owner of Gillespie Tree Service, now Reliable Tree Service. He enjoyed working, fishing and going to the lake.
Surviving are his children, Terry Gillespie (Katrina) of Chattahoochee, FL, Timmy Gillespie of Dawsonville, GA, Lynn McGill (Shannon) of Easley, Amanda Babb (Austin) of Dawsonville, GA and Jason Gillespie (Jane) of Pickens; twenty-four grandchildren; twenty four great grandchildren; and sisters, Martha Linderman of Dacusville and Jean Neese (Leroy) of Greenville.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Wanda Jarvis; a daughter-in-law, Renee Gillespie; and sisters, Joyce Russell and Rachel Pilgrim.
