Wanda Marie Schnurr, daughter of Raymond and Gladys (Wohlwend) Schnurr, was born March 11, 1932 in Des Moines. She attended Blairsburg schools and graduated in 1950 from Lincoln High in Webster City. Wanda worked for McCollough’s Inc. for six years, and the Webster City Community Schools from 1956 – 1996, where she worked as the secretary for the superintendent. She moved to Ames in 2018 and then Story City in 2019.
She is survived by her sister, Mavis Merrill of Ames; niece, Jeannette Roth of West Des Moines; and great-nephew and great-niece, Taliesin and Danielle Roth.
Wanda is preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law William Merrill, and niece Allison Merrill.
Wanda was a member of the Church of Christ where she was very active in many roles at the church and women’s fellowship. She enjoyed spending time with family, reading, and watching any sports involving Iowa, Iowa State, and the Chicago Cubs.
