Mr. Bowers was born in Horseshoe Bend and served in the U.S. Army. He was a banker for many years with the Bank of California, retiring in 1982 in Renton, Wash. He moved to Yakima in 2008.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma Bowers, of Yakima; two daughters, Melva Warner, of Yakima and Wilma Raye Wheeler, of Port Ludlow; two sons, Richard Bowers and Robert Bowers, both of Vancouver; one brother, Frank Bowers, of Emmett; one sister, Grace Hawkins, of Horseshoe Bend; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
