Leonard Stringer, 76, passed away March 3, 2020, in Bryan, Texas. A celebration of his life will be held 10 A.M., Saturday, March 7, 2020, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in North Zulch, Texas. Pastor Randall Smith will officiate the service. Interment will follow in Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery. The Stringer family will receive friends Friday, March 6th from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. at Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville, Texas

Leonard Stringer was born March 22, 1943, in Brownsville, Tennessee to Thomas Leonard & Elizabeth Inez (Lancaster) Stringer. He worked as a Stationary Engineer for Chevron. Leonard married Billie Jean Ellis August 31, 1963, and they made their home in Houston until 2003, when they moved to the Hilltop Lakes area in Leon County, Texas. Leonard enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading books and taking pictures. He took photos of something everywhere he went. Leonard also enjoyed playing poker and listening to Willie Nelson. He was happiest when surrounded by his family and loved showing his grandchildren the ranch where he made his home. Most of all, Leonard adored his wife of fifty-six years and loved her with all of his heart.

Leonard was preceded in death by both of his parents and sister, Rebecca Ann Frierson. He is survived by wife, Billie Stringer of Normangee; son, Jeff Stringer (April) of Bellville; daughters, Tammie Lem (Tim) of Garland and Marcie LaBelle (Doug) of Katy; brother, Larry Stringer of Eads, TN; grandchildren, Mackenzie, Thomas Levi, Michael Lucas, Tony, Nikki and Maggie and great-grandchildren, Chase, Chloe and Dylan.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 5084 Church Lane, North Zulch, Texas 77872-9714.

Arrangements are under the direction of Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville, Texas.
