Margaret Christina Meli
March 5, 1926 - February 22, 2020 (age 93)

Our loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, Margaret Christina Meli, peacefully passed from this world on February 22, 2020. Mom was born March 5, 1926 and was the second of seven children born to Frank and Gladys Aufdemorte.
She married Harry Copeland and was blessed with her daughter Linda. They later divorced and she married Nando Meli Sr., together they were blessed with their son, Nando Meli Jr. She always referred to him as her special kid.
Mom owned and ran the Stockton café for 40 years and was famous for her homemade burgers and fries. People came from all over to eat there. She loved cooking for others.
Mom loved traveling and did a lot until her health didn’t allow her the freedom to do so. She spent time at the Tooele Senior Center enjoying meals and visiting with her family and friends.
Mom is survived by her son, Nando (Jo Lynn Campbell), Stockton, Utah, seven grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren, two brothers; Frank (Marva) Aufdemorte, Rulon Aufdemorte, sister-in-law, Sharlene Aufdemorte, all of Stockton, Utah and Many nieces and nephews.
Mom was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Linda Bailey, grandson Tim Bailey, brother Robert Aufdemorte, sisters; Arlene Hore, Zelma Ahlberg, and Luella Donaldson.
Mom knew Jesus was her Lord and Savior and now being absent from her physical body she is present with the Lord. Until we meet again, our memories of you will keep you close in our hearts. We love and miss you.
Our heart felt thanks and appreciation to the loving and compassionate care for mom during her last days at Rocky Mountain Willow Springs Care Center by the staff, nurses cna’s, hospice staff, mom’s roommate, Shirley who was always watching over her and her lifelong friend, Helen Eyre.
Mom’s request was for a graveside service. To honor that request, we will have a visitation at Tate Mortuary 110 South Main Street, Tooele, Utah on Friday, February 28, 2020 from 10 – 10:45 a.m., followed by a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. at the Tooele City Cemetery. www.tatemortuary.com
