ST. GEORGE - On October 1, 2006 after 73 years Fenton Dale Frehner has temporarily separated from his earthly family and joined with many of their loved ones and dear friends beyond the veil.
Dale's life revolved around and gloried in his time with Glenna, his wife of 54 years and their family - children: Patrice (Mike) Miller, Tracy (Sherie) Frehner, Fran (Joel) Putnam and Jeremy (Adriane) Frehner, 20 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Dale was happiest to be with his family . . . they made him laugh and he made then laugh with his fun and games and the right amount of teasing. Dale often said that his family was his glory. He loved to follow each one in all their endeavors. One grandson, Joshua Frehner, is in the military and one grandson, Landon Putnam is serving a mission in Paraguay.
Dale was born July 6, 1933 in Mesquite, Nevada to Fenton and Mary Leavitt Frehner. He grew up there through high school. Throughout his life he loved to participate in and follow sports of all kinds. Dale met Glenna Graff his first day at Dixie College and knew then she was his choice. They were married 1-1/2 years later on November 19, 1952 in the St. George Temple.
Dale served two years in the army during the Korean War . . . 13 months of this time was spent in Germany in the Chemical Corp. When he returned home he continued his education in Logan, Utah at Utah State University and then at the University of Southern California at Los Angeles. His professional life was spent in helping the physically handicapped. His last years, he himself, was disabled with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) which gave him an even greater appreciation for those he had worked with through the years.
Raised in the desert he loved the area of Southern Nevada and Utah. He was happy to enjoy his last 30 years in St. George. Dale loved to serve in church callings and did so with good energy. One great highlight of his life and service was with Glenna as senior missionaries in England and Wales.
He is survived by his family mentioned above. His parents are deceased and also one brother, Graeme (Mavis) Frehner. His other brothers and sisters are Verl (Toni) Frehner, Alfred (Susie) Frehner, Klint (Gail) Frehner, Bryce (Diana) Frehner, Creed (Debbie) Frehner, Dorothy (Verland, deceased) Thurston, Mary Lynn (Tom) Leavitt, Lana (Derrill) Larkin and Kimi (Mark) Christensen. Glenna's three brothers, Lou Graff, Ken Graff and Darrell (Joyce) Graff.
Dale was a friend to all, loved by all and will be greatly missed by all.

St. George Blvd. and again on Thursday, 9:30-10:30 a.m., prior to the services at the Main Street Chapel.
