Etta Fay Caylor, of Weatherford, Texas, entered into the Presence of her Lord and Savior on January 27, 2020. She was 88.

Etta Fay was born on the family farm in Grit, Texas, the 11th child born to Isaac Melvin Beam and Emma Elizabeth Beam. After graduating from Mason High School, she enrolled in nursing school in Brady, TX, where she became an LVN. Some of her happiest memories were from this time in her life. She maintained friendships with several of these fellow nurses throughout the remainder of her life.

Etta Fay married Alton Wayne Caylor on July 4, 1952. They lived in and around the Ft Worth area, most of their lives. Their marriage was blessed with daughter, Becky, and sons Alton II and David.

Etta Fay was employed in the nursing field for many years and derived great pleasure telling stories about the doctors and patients---much of which was quite comical. She had a knack for seeing the funny side of life and could make people laugh with her outlandish tales. It was not beyond her to "doctor" up her tales a bit to make the story more colorful and entertaining.

Etta Fay spent many years working in labor and delivery and she truly loved helping the new mom's--- teaching them how to care for and love their babies. She often told about praying for babies that were born with problems and how they would recover and be perfectly fine when they went home.

A nicely kept yard and gardening were favorite pastimes Etta Fay enjoyed. Buying peaches and canning or freezing them was also a summertime favorite.

It was important to Etta Fay that her family attend and be involved in church on a regular basis. She served in various churches, doing whatever was needed. During her time at University Park Church in Ft Worth, she formed a special friendship with Valerie See and husband David. Little did she know at that time, the tremendous blessing they would be to her 20 years later, when she could no longer handle her daily living needs alone.

Etta Fay enjoyed reading and watching Christian TV programs. She supported various ministries and always loved talking about the Lord. She had an extensive collection of books. She enjoyed baking food and taking it to people when they were sick or needed encouragement. She truly had a servant's heart and was never happier than when she was serving others.

For many years, Etta Fay and several other ladies had a set time to pray each morning. They would share their prayer needs, then pray together. Only Heaven will reveal how many lives were changed due to those prayers.

Etta Fay's final 18 months were spent in a nursing home in Weatherford, TX, where she looked forward to activities and crafts and participated in everything. She was an avid domino player. She was a great communicator and enjoyed having a captive audience to share her stories with. During this time, nephew Clyde Killgore and wife Nancy, and dear friends Valerie and David See oversaw her affairs, doctor appointments, and day-to-day living needs. What an incredible gift they were to her. Because of their great care for her, she was content and happy with her life.

Etta Fay is survived by her children: Rebecca Bruner (David) of Saginaw, TX, Alton Caylor II (Mary) of DeLeon, TX, and David Caylor of Saginaw, TX. Grandchildren: Nathan (Patty) Bruner, Angela (Jesse) Shook, Amy (Chris) Davis, and Melissa Caylor. Great-grandchildren: Analiese, Cole, Addison, Audrey, Joshua, Caleb, and Kelsea, brother: Willis W. Beam of Killeen, TX, and numerous nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson Alton Caylor III, sisters: Thelma Van Liew, Mabel Killgore Nettie Short, and brothers: Gorman Beam, Reall Beam, Isaac (Ike) Beam, Melvin Beam, Chester (Check) Beam, and Wallis Beam.

Pallbearers will be Jesse McCoy, Chester Beam, Nathan Bruner, Howard Killgore, Tom Short and Otis Beam.
