The body of a man believed to be John LaPrairie, of Cheboygan, was found in the woods in Mackinaw Township, about three miles from Mackinaw City, by Mrs. Clarence Irwin, who with her son, James, were hunting for stray cows. The clothing worn by the man corresponded to that worn by Mr. LaPrairie who disappeared about two years ago. Published in the Petoskey News-Review, Saturday, May 8, 1943.
