Mamie" Pearl Lyons Owens", 78, of Morganton, went to her Heavenly home on Sunday February 23, 2020 at Burke Hospice and Palliative Care Center, Valdese, after a period of declining health.
Mrs. Owens was born July 16, 1941 in Carter County, TN, a daughter of the late Mack Daniel and Tessie Borders Lyons.
She was a member of Praise Assembly Church and Cornerstone Covenant Church. Pearl was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and was a retired dietician from a nursing facility.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Owens, Jr., one son, Thomas Owens, one daughter, Sandra Owens, a grandson, Junior Guardiola, brothers, Elbert , Earl, Herman and Byel Lyons and a sister, Lela Heaton.
Surviving are two sons, Sam Owens (Glettha) of Valdese, Kenneth Owens (Linda) of Morganton , four daughters, Teresa LaValley (Roy) of Drexel, Christine Owens of Connelly Springs, Wanda LaValley (Russell) of Drexel and Linda Owens of Valdese, and a sister, Linda Gouge of Ervin, TN. Also surviving are a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral Services for Pearl Lyons Owens will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday February 28, 2020 at Praise Assembly Church 873 US-70, Morganton with Revs. Kevin Crawford, Freddy Stapleton, and Seth Avery officiating. Interment will follow in the Park Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12 until 2:00 P.M. Friday at Praise Assembly Church.
