She was born Sept. 14, 1903, in Warman to Charles and Alfrieda (Harldson) Johnson. She moved to the Pine River area with her family in 1911. She attended school in Pine River and graduated from Walker High School. She took normal teachers training and taught for several years. She married Harry Burk on Sept. 30, 1930. She attended the United Methodist Church in Pine River and was active in Ladies Aid. They lived in Pine River until moving to the Good Shepard Apartments in Sauk Rapids in 1987.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Burk, Longville, and Barry Burk, Sauk Rapids; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ernest Johnson, Pine River.
Her husband died in 1989; and three sisters, Hazel Martin, Olga Duncan and Edna Just; and three brothers, Adrian, Avid and Harold Johnson, died earlier.
