Gloria Bowls Garcia, 81, passed away July 28, 2007 in an Alice hospital. She was born November 4, 1925 in Kerrville, Texas to Percy and Guadalupe Bowls. Mrs. Garcia was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Alice. Survivors include two daughters, Marie Rose (Carlos) Medrano of Jacksonville, Florida and Cindy (David) Cisneros of Alice, Texas; three sons: Guate (Naomi) Garcia, Jr. of Alice, Carlos C. R. (Cheryl) Garcia of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and Gilbert "Andy" (Alicia) Garcia of Alice; the father of her children, Guate Garcia, Sr. of Alice; five sisters: Sophie Craig of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Goldie Acuna of Corpus Christi, Texas, Larlene (Larry) Martinez, Roselie (Alfred) Moreno and Leola Price all of Austin, Texas; twenty-five grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren.
Services held Jul 30 & 31 at the Holmgreen Mortuary Chapel in Alice. The funeral mass will was celebrated Aug 1 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. Burial followed in Roberson-Collins Cemetery in Alice.
