Hugh Lindsey Warren 78 of Bassett died Friday December 9, 2011 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County. Born in Rockingham Co, N.C. on February 27, 1933 the son of the late Johnny Warren and the late Lena Fargis Warren. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his daughter Kitty Lane Warren Wilson who died on September 8, 2007, sister Frances Aldridge. He was retied with 45 years of service with American Furniture. Was a member of Blackberry Baptist church for over 60 years.
Surviving is his wife of almost 60 years Regina Spencer Warren of the home, three sisters Inez Spencer of Bassett, Shirley Harrison of North Carolina and Anna Mae Barker of Florida. Also surviving several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday December 13 from 6-8 at Bassett Funeral Service chapel. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday December 14 at 11:00 a.m. at Blackberry Baptist Church with Dr. G.H. Vaughan, Jr., and Rev. Glenn Voss officiating with burial to follow in Blackberry Baptist Church Cemetery. Donations can be made to Blackberry Baptist Church at 3241 Stones Dairy Rd, Bassett, Va. 24055. The funeral for Hugh Lindsey Warren, 78, of Bassett, who died Dec. 9, 2011, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Blackberry Baptist Church with Dr. G.H. Vaughan Jr. and the Rev. Glenn Voss officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Bassett Funeral Service.
Warren was born Feb. 27, 1933, in Rockingham County, N.C., to Johnny Warren and Lena Fargis Warren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kitty Lane Warren Wilson on Sept. 8, 2007, and a sister, Frances Aldridge.
He retired with 45 years of service with American Furniture.
He had been a member of Blackberry Baptist Church for more than 60 years.

The funeral for Hugh Lindsey Warren, 78, of Bassett, who died Dec. 9, 2011, was held Wednesday at Blackberry Baptist Church with Dr. G.H. Vaughan Jr. officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were Carl Ingram, William Larry Stewart, Ray Priddy, Ronnie Culler, Jimmy Cassell, Robert Sutphin, Ray Martin, Clifford Stone, Billy Fretwell, Robert Harbour and Jimmy Ramsey.
