Alice Ann (Gantt) McMahan of Princeton, Texas passed away on February 14, 2020 at the age of 86. She was born on July 18, 1933 to Walter B. Gantt and Mary Allie (West) Gantt in Princeton. Alice Ann married Jackie Donald McMahan June 14, 1952 in Princeton. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Princeton.
Alice Ann is survived by her sons, Don McMahan and wife, Nancy of Newhall, Iowa and David McMahan and wife, Diana of Climax, Texas; grandchildren, Sheli Guinn and husband, Clint of Princeton, Levi McMahan and wife, Christina of Princeton, Donnie McMahan and wife, Maria of Pella, Iowa, Rachel McKeever and husband, Andrew of Center Point, Iowa, and Kathryn Ives and husband, Paul of McKinney, Texas; great-grandchildren, Colt, Alliann, and Mark David; niece, Penny Boles of Overland Park, Kansas.
Everyone affectionately knew Alice as Grandma. Alice enjoyed the presence of family and especially grandkids. Each grandchild carries the fondest of memories of her time and attention focused on them. Alice always took pride in saying, “I think we all get along.” Despite Alice’s health challenges, she was never heard to complain and would usually proclaim, “she was so blessed”. Everyone was always encouraged by her genuine smile, sense of humor, and kind words. Alice’s many interests included beautiful china painting, playing the piano, bible study, and genealogy. Though nothing pleased her more than to be surrounded by her loving family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and brothers, Ben Ed Gantt and Joe Jack Gantt.
Alice Ann will be buried next to her husband at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Climax, Texas.
