Esther Elaine LeSueur
August 20, 1939 ~ February 13, 2020 (age 80)

Esther Elaine Lewis LeSueur, 80, passed away peacefully in her son's home, where she has lived for the past five years, in St. George, Utah, surrounded by loved ones, on February 13, 2020. Elaine was born on August 20, 1939 in Mesa, AZ to Samuel Sheldon Lewis and Ellenor Emma Clark Lewis. She married Glen Reed LeSueur Sr in the Mesa, AZ temple on October 19, 1956.

Elaine was the oldest of nine children. She told many stories and had fond memories of growing up in her home on 8th Street and Date in Mesa. Many of her closest cousins and relatives lived on the same family owned property. She attended Mesa High and during her junior year, met Glen LeSueur in her chorus class. She describes it as love at first sight when she saw his "broad shoulders and wavy blonde hair". They were married later that school year, Elaine was 17 and Glen was 18. Elaine had a strong desire to start a family right away, so within months she was pregnant with her first of four children. Elaine loved being a mother and grandmother. She enjoyed camping in the mountains, trips to the desert for "weenie roasts", singing, and playing with her collection of puppets. Elaine was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and had a great love for the scriptures, and especially the Book of Mormon. She chose to serve a mission in Milwaukee, WI and Fresno, CA. She dearly loved her missionary service. Elaine loved her Savior and was a great inspiration and example of how to love and serve others. She made it her lifelong mission to make sure everyone she met knew that they were special and loved deeply by their Heavenly Father.

She is survived by three of her four children: Kirk James (Diane) LeSueur of Phoenix, AZ; Dwight Douglas (Lauri) LeSueur of St. George, UT; and Judy Lynn LeSueur of Eagar, AZ; her siblings: Sam (Erlene) Lewis; Mike (Cathy) Lewis; Martha (Harold) Bing; Linda (Ray) Lewis; Mark (Debbie) Lewis; and John (Candy) Lewis; 25 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. She is preceded in death by: her eternal sweetheart, Glen LeSueur Sr; her son, Glen Jr (Ginger) LeSueur; her brother, Danny (Sherry) Lewis; her sister, Ruth (Deryl) Cooley; and granddaughter, Tina Lewis.

The memorial service will begin at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, February 22, 2020, in St. George, UT, at the Green Valley Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Elaine will be laid to rest Saturday February 29th 1pm at the Mesa Cemetery in Mesa, AZ. www.mcmillanmortuary.com
