DR. R. C. HUSTON, FIRST BAPTIST PASTOR, DIES
Funeral Services To Be Conducted Here Wednesday

Pastor of the First Baptist church, Dr. Richard Calvin Huston 66, of 5954 N. E. Fifth ave., died Monday night in a Miami hospital.
Dr. Huston came to Miami six years ago and has served as moderator of the Miami Baptist association, president of Child Evangelism and promoter of the Friends of Israel in public schools.
Born in Indianapolis, Ind., July 2, 1876, Dr. Huston was consulting engineer for 88 cities in work involving the expenditure of more than $10,000,000 prior to his entrance in the ministry. He served as pastor of the Central Baptist church of Atlanta for 10 years before coming to Miami.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary S. Huston. Miami; two daughters, Miss Helen S. Huston and Mrs. E. L. Harling, Jr., and two granddaughters, all of Atlanta. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p. m. Wednesday in the First Baptist church by Dr. J. Max Cook, pastor of the Miami Beach Baptist church, and the Rev. Frank A. Keene, pastor of the Central Baptist mission. His body will be sent to Atlanta for burial by the Combs Funeral home. Dr. Huston was president of the Florida chain of Bible conferences and director of the World Christian Fundamentals association. Known throughout the South as an evangelist and Bible conference speaker, his name appeared in Who's Who in America.
Active pall bearers, all junior deacons of the church, are M. E. Barret, Uwell B. Chalker, Harold Crissey, J. H. Drawdy, Paul Henderson, Sam Land, Joe Mangum Coleman Minshew, Chester McMullin and O. B. Parker. Senior deacons of the First Baptist church will be honorary pall bearers. They include J. W. Harllee, S. L. Holder, H. J. Mangum, W. H. Martin, M. F. McAfee, A. F. McClain, E. C. McCulley, J. Frank Potts, V. B. Salter, Paul Tichenor, Dr. H. L. Timmins and Frank B. Watson.
