Freeman Mortuary (Jefferson City MO) obituary:

Margaret Jane Acree, age 82 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2020, at Silverstone Place, Rolla, Mo. surrounded by her family. She was born on August 15, 1937 in Rolla, Mo., the daughter of Sylvester and Mary (Elliott) Martin. She was married on December 31, 1965 in Rolla, Mo. to Grover Acree Jr. who preceded her in death on March 17, 1991.

A lifelong resident of the Central Missouri area, Margaret graduated from Rolla High School in 1956. She was employed with various dry cleaning companies in Jefferson City for over 45 years. Margaret was known for her hard work ethic, even walking to and from work most of her life. She was still working until she was nearly 80 years old, until ill health forced her retirement.

Margaret had a love for cows, which came from growing up and working on her family farm in Rolla. She also enjoyed playing cards, watching westerns and listening to her favorite musician, Charley Pride. Most importantly, she cherished time with her family- especially her grandchildren and watching her great grandchildren grow. She looked forward to watching her daughters’ performances in community theatre and lovingly cared for and spoiled her dog, Max. Family was always the center of her life and she always kept everyone in line. Her family will remember her for always making them laugh.

Survivors include: one daughter, Sharon Acree-Frausto of Jefferson City, Mo.; one step-son, Darrell Acree; three sisters, Ruth Adair of Rolla, Mo., Rose Falkenrath of Rolla Mo. and Thelma Miller (Jerry) of Richland, Mo.; one brother, Charles Martin of Illinois; 10 grandchildren, Dustin (Amanda) McGee, Samara (Andrew) Frausto, Caleesha (Scott) Cook, Raul Frausto, Brandi (Antonio) Williams, Monica (Jamaro) Acree, Daniel Acree, Jason (Amanda) Acree, Shannon Acree and Roxanne (Curtis) Fargon; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 26 years; one step-son, Grover Acree III; and three brothers, Sylvester Martin, Eugene Martin and Harold Martin.

Visitation will be held at First Church of God from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Monday, February 24, 2020. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Monday, February 24, 2020 at First Church of God with Reverend Joe Gregory officiating. Graveside service and interment will follow at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Margaret Acree Memorial Fund. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.
