REBECCA M. BUEKER, 68, of Columbia City, died at 4:25 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne where she was transferred earlier in the day from Parkview Whitley Hospital.
She was born June 14, 1939 in Toledo, Illinois a daughter of Arthur F. and Arizona (Eaton) Lawhorn. Her formative years were spent in the Toledo area.
On March 24, 1958 she was united in marriage to Adolph F. Bueker. They made their home in Churubusco until 1970 when they moved to their home in Laud. Mr. Bueker preceded her in death on February 22, 1993.
Surviving relatives include a son, Lloyd Â"HossÂ" (Patricia) Bueker of Toledo, Illinois; a daughter, Phyllis Bueker of Laud; five grandchildren, Jason Burns, Heather Burns, Joseph Burns, Daniel Burns and Diana McCarty; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Opal Hickey of Braidwood, Illinois and Jessie Burton of Toledo, Illinois; and two brothers, Roy Lawhorn of Mattoon, Illinois and Larry Lawhorn of Jewett, Illinois.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a great grandson; four brothers, Cleo Lawhorn, Arthur Ed Lawhorn, Hubert Lawhorn and Raymond Lawhorn; two sisters, Grace Elizabeth Lawhorn and Rea Bueker.
The graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. CST Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at Sigel Cemetery in Sigel, Illinois. The visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home in Columbia City and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Barkley Funeral Chapel in Toledo, Illinois.
