Kay was born June 15, 1942, in Manhattan, daughter of Robert and Bernice Cross Carver.
She is a graduate of Topeka High School. She volunteered at the VA Medical Center, for Meals on Wheels, and Big Brothers-Big Sisters, and always adopted families at Christmas. Kay retired from Frito Lay this year after 23 years.
Kay is survived by a daughter, Susan Huddleston and her husband, Rick; a son, Fred Warbritton and his wife, Joyce; her mother, Bernice Carver; sisters, Martha Broxterman and Vicki Berg, both of Topeka, Patty Reed, Manhattan, and Delores Kyatta, in Ohio; a brother, Leon Spain, Manhattan; a sister-in-law, Merlinda Carver, Topeka; and five grandchildren, Erin, Mark and Matthew Huddleston, and Emily and Brandon Warbritton; and nieces and nephews.
Kays life will be celebrated at a service at 10 a.m. Saturday at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 S.W. Urish Road. Internment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Kay Warbritton Memorial Fund and sent in care of Kaw Valley State Bank and Trust, to be used for her grandchildrens college educations. Online condolences may be sent to www.kevinbrennanfamily.com.
