Cleveland was born on December 13, 1933, in the Swift Run Gap area, and was the son of the late Herbert W. and Sarah Shifflett Beasley. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine Frances Shifflett Beasley, who passed away on July 31, 2003; a son Grover Wayne Beasley; brothers, Junior "Buster" Beasley, Nathan "Nat" Beasley, and James Elmer Beasley and sisters, Irene Spitzer, Patricia "Patsy" Dean and Letha Lam.
Cleveland enjoyed playing softball in his earlier years, and attended lots of games. He also had a love for blue grass music and going to yard sales. For many years, Cleveland worked as an independent stone mason. Family was a huge part of his life, with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchild keeping him young at heart. He was the last surviving member of his family.
He is survived by beloved children, Allen Beasley and wife, Tina, Franklin Cleveland Beasley and wife, Amy, and Lisa Beasley Shifflett and husband, Bruce, all of Elkton; ten grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 25, 2016, from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton. Burial will be private.
