NEW BRITAIN -- Eugene Albro Jr., 56, of Neptune Ave., Madison, prominent automobile dealer in the New Britain area for a number of years and former head of the New Britain Buick Co., died Wedneday at home. Mr. Albro lived in Madison the last nine years and he was semi-retired from the New Britain business, which his father, the late Eugene Albro Sr., founded. He was a former member of the New Britain Board of Police Commissioners. He was a fourth-degree member of the Knights of Columbus, a member of the New Britain Lodge of Elks, the Madison Country Club and Madison Winter Club. He was a graduate of Niagara University and a World War II Army veteran.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Mary Theresa Morrissey Albro; two sons, Eugene J. Albro III of New Britain and William Albro of Clinton; four daughters, Jane Albro of Danbury, Mrs. Barbara Albro of Lake Worth, Fla., and Mary Elizabeth Albro and Susan Albro, both of Madison; and two sisters, Irene Marsters of Madison and Mrs. Therese Ulrich of Chester.

The funeral is Saturday at 9:00 a.m. from the O'Connell Funeral Home, Boston Post Road, Westbrook, and at 11 a.m. at St. Margaret's Church, Madison. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Clinton. Calling hours are today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 55 Broad St., Middletown.
