William Henry "Peck" Persinger, 93, formerly of Ben's Run Rd., died, February 6, 2020 at the Woodlands Nursing Home in Clifton Forge.

Mr. Persinger was born November 4, 1926 the son of the late Isaac B. and Phoebe Gaines Persinger. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 5 sisters Catherine Persinger, Mary Frances Persinger, Melvina Ailstock, Annie Switzer, and Nina Persinger; 4 brothers Joe Persinger, Isiah Persinger, Charles Persinger, and Arnold Persinger.

Peck was a farmer and a logger, who loved racing, watching and feeding the squirrels and birds. He was known as the Weatherman at the Woodlands.

Surviving are his sister in law Marie Gaines of Covington, and a number of nieces and nephews.

The graveside service will be held Sunday February 9, 2020 at 3:00 PM in the Lone Star Cemetery with the Rev. Virgil Woodie officiating.

The family will receive their friends from 1:30 until 2:30 PM on Sunday at Arritt Funeral Home.

The funeral arrangements are being handled by Arritt Funeral Home.
