Born at West Lafayette, he was a rural mail carrier on R. 1 here for 34 years until his retirement about three years ago. He was a veteran of World War I and as a young man, attended the Bush Conservatory of Music in Chicago. He was married to Blanche Johnson in 1921 and was a member of the Methodist Church, MartinKennedy American Legion Post 125 and Otterbein Masonic Lodge 561.
Surviving with the widow are a son, Richard of Toledo, and two brothers, Dr. E. E. Waddell of Lafayette and Thomas Waddell of Indianapolis. (The Journal & Courier, Dec 11, 1958)
