Arthur L. Gifford, 87, of Parkersburg passed away Sunday, February 2, 2020 at his residence.

He was born March 30, 1932 in Monaca, PA, a son of the late Sherman and Mary Ann Rambo Gifford. Arthur was an US Army Veteran, had retired from Scots Landscaping and had previously worked at Dudley’s Greenhouse. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and boxing.

Arthur is survived by his children, Richard McCray (Barb) of Brohard, WV, Art Gifford II (Sara) of Parkersburg, Angela Lipscomb of Parkersburg and Arlette Foutty (James) of Vienna; two sisters, Janet Schied and Mildred Buhn both of Negley, OH; eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

In addition to his parents, Arthur was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor M. McCray Gifford; two brothers, James and Lawrence Gifford and six sisters, Bernice Lutz (139306104), Leona Jenkins, Opal Welsh, Mary Lou Sutherin, Florence Bowles (181694329) and Lorena Lutz (198946454).

Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm. Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., south Parkersburg with Pastor Jamie Burton officiating and with full military rites by American Legion Post 15. Interment will follow at the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Brohard, WV. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm. Tuesday and one hour prior to the services Wednesday at the funeral home.
