WHEELER, Maxine Elizabeth - Of Mt. Morris, age 86, died Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. The funeral service will take place 10:30 am Friday, July 27, 2007 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Pastor Betty Gamboa will officiate with burial to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, in Clio. Maxine's family will receive friends at the Miles Martin Funeral Home on Thursday from 11:00am to 8:00pm, and on Friday from 9:30 until time of service. Memorial donations may be considered to the Diabetes Association or the Genesee County Humane Society. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Maxine was born March 3, 1921 in Clio, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Shelton and Mary (Lanphear) Robinson. She and William Glenn Wheeler were united in marriage April 2, 1941 in Flint. She enjoyed taking care of her family, bowling, and gardening. Left to cherish her memory are: her husband of 66 years, Glenn; daughter, Glenda and husband Lee Whalen of Clio; daughter-in-law, Mary Jane Wheeler of Flushing; grandson, Travis Whalen of Clio; sister, Beatrice Malia of Mt. Morris; and numerous nieces and nephews. Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; son, Richard; two sisters, Doris Akridge and Margaret Purdy; 3 brothers, Jess Robinson, Grant Robinson, and Laurence Robinson.
