Bonham- Memorial services for Tony “Bubba” Hernandez, age 54, of Bonham, TX were held, Wednesday, February 5, 2020, at Seventh and Main Baptist Church. Bro. Justin Wideman officiated. Tony passed away on Friday, January 31, 2020 at his home.

Tony “Bubba” Joseph Hernandez was born in Dallas, TX on August 24, 1965 to Gonio Joseph Hernandez and Beverly Jean (Doughty) Durrett. He married Rachel Lynn (Morrow) Hernandez on November 4, 2005 in Mesquite, TX. Tony was a Purchasing manager for Marr Bros in Dallas, Texas, a lawn and garden equipment and parts distributor. He was a loving husband, father, Papaw, friend and coach. Lifelong love of racing; led to many nights working, playing, and flagging dirt track racing. Jokingly referred to as “the blind flagman” he was loved and respected by many; hated by few.

He is survived by wife Rachel Hernandez of Bonham; daughter, Erika Elizabeth Hernandez of Tumwater, Washington; son Tony Joseph Hernandez, Jr. of Dallas, son, Cory Allen Hall of Duncanville; grandchildren, Hayden Lee Brown, Adyson Elizabeth Brown, Ella Marie Brown, Phoenix Bradley Hayes and Madelyn Paige Hall; grandmother, Sadie Mary Hernandez of Dallas; sisters, Frances Safi of Revere, MA and Karen Harris of Kaufman; brother, Mario Hernandez of Midlothian; Bonus mom Kay Hernandez, father-in-law, Joe Morrow of Bonham; along with numerous nieces and nephews and extended bonus children, grandchildren and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bonus Dad Larry Durrett, and mentor, Ralph Meeker.
