Born in Pettis County, MO a daughter to William Frederick and Martha Frances (nee Sebree) Wehmeyer. She died at her De Soto home on February 1, 2020 at the age of 90. She is survived by two children: Michael (Carol) Schuerman, De Soto and Tonya (Mark) Horne, De Soto; three grandchildren: Ben (Elizabeth) Schuerman, Jeff (Kimberly) Schuerman, and Kirbi Hampton; and three great-grandchildren: Riley, Jacob, and Jack as well as a dear friend and caregiver Tammy Faust. She is preceded in death by her husband Donald K. “Don” Schuerman; one son Timothy Schuerman and his wife Janet; one grandchild Kory Schuerman; five sisters: Mable Chiles, Bernice Fiken, Bessie Rayl, Willie Mae Schnieder, and Delores Maness and four brothers: Forest “lil’ Buddy” Wehmeyer, Sam Wehmeyer, Fred Wehmeyer, and John Wehmeyer. Katie and her husband Don owned and operated Suburbia Counrty Club, Twist and Dip Ice Cream Parlor, and a Century 21 Real Estate Office, all in De Soto
