Hazel E. Mohr, 79, of Cushing, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2007, at her home, after a brief illness.

Services were at 9:30 am in Saturday July 28, 2007 at St. John Lutheran Church in Cushing with Pastor Sheryl K. Ashley officiating. Burial was in the Holstein Cemetery.

Hazel Eleanor (Raymer) Mohr was born November 20, 1927 in Aurelia, Iowa to Homer and Florence (Wunschel) Raymer.

During her youth she lived in the Ida Grove area, except for 6 years when she lived in Climax Springs, MO. She always loved visiting the Ozarks.

She was united in marriage to Robert E. Mohr on December 27, 1944. They moved form Holstein to a farm south of Cushing in 1947 where they farmed and raised their family, then moved into Cushing in 1994.

Hazel was a long time member of St. John Lutheran Church, ALCW, and enjoyed participating in choir, and teaching Sunday School, especially her class "Our Church & Our Neighbors Faith." She was also and active member of Douglas Homemakers. She was a loving wife, Mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and good friend. Her door was always open and you were always welcomed into her home.

Hazel had a contagious laugh. She enjoyed music, especially gospel music, and loved to sing and play guitar and to dance. Her interest included reading, drawing and painting, furniture restoration, shopping and caring for her lawn and garden and her home.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 62 years, Robert of Cushing; her children, Pamela Morgan and husband Douglas of Lawrence, Kansas, Robert R. Mohr and wife Sue of Cushing, Iowa, Gary Mohr and wife Kathy Jo of Holstein, Iowa; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Mohr of Charter Oak, Iowa; 15 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren; a sister, Lois Hillman of Ida Grove, Iowa; a brother, Howard Raymer of Downey, California; and many cousins, aunts, nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Florence Raymer; sister, Iola Christiansen; brother Kenneth Raymer; and sons, Mitchell and Michael Mohr.
