A 15-year-old West High ;chool sophomore died shortly Before noon a moment after completing an eye test in physical education class. The boy, Arthur Van Erem, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur F. Van Erem, of 514 S. Hackett Ftd., died of a heart condition with which he had been afflict- ed for several years. Revival Attempt Fails West High Principal William Gibson said the boy collapsed and died despite efforts of Dick Dofson, gym teacher, a school nurse and firemen to him. Dotson applied mouth (o mouth resuscilation. Firemen were called (o t h e school at a. m., and used oxygen for 10 minutes to no avail.
Services Friday Funeral services will be at 3 p. m. Friday in the Christ Lu- toeran church, 234 S. Hackett Rd. A prayer service will be at 7 p. m. Thursday at the Chapel of Memories West.
The boy's family reported :hat he had suffered from an irregular heart beat and had made several trips to the Mayo ''.linic at Rochester, Minn., in :he past few years. School officials said the boy's ramily and physician approved his participation in the physical education program
