ALFRED LANDON MYERS, “AL”, went to be with the Lord, January 26, 2020 after a long fought battle with Parkinson Disease and Dementia. Al was born August 7, 1936 in Crossville, TN the son of Hayden Joseph and Minnie Flora Moore Myers.

Before graduating Pleasant Hill Academy in 1995, Al worked the rock quarry and sawmill in Pomona. After graduating high school he worked for Millard and Ola-B Woody at Woody’s Fruit Market in Crossville.

During 1958-1962, he worked on a surveying crew with the TN Dept. of Transportation. From 1962-1964, he worked for Crossville Rubber Products. In 1964 Al moved his family to Detroit, MI, where he drove a truck for Chrysler Corporation until 1972. At this time he moved his family back to Crossville where they built and operated Al’s Town & Country Produce Market. Al and Betty retired and sold the business in 1997 after he was diagnosed with Parkinson Disease. Al was a member of Pine Eden Baptist Church. He loved his church family and the trips they took with the Joy Group. Al loved life and lived it to the fullest.

Al is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty Myers, son- Tony Myers and his wife Vanessa of Crossville, TN, daughter- Rhonda Rector and her husband John also of Crossville, TN, grandchildren- Caison Myers and his wife Lori, Camdon Myers, Bobby Griffin, Liz Bowman, Heather Rector and Jackie Griffith and twelve great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday January 29, 2020 at 2pm at Hood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11am-2pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Woody Cemetery.

The family has respectfully asked that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Cumberland House Hospice.
