Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, Eileen Patricia Culleton Dittrich of Dittmer, MO, departed this life at her home having reached the age of sixty-nine years, five months and twenty-five days. Eileen was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on July 30, 1950, daughter of Thomas Culleton and Genevieve Mary Culleton nee Wobbe. On May 26, 1984, she was united in marriage to Peter John Dittrich Jr, known to most as Sonny, and four children came to bless this union.

Eileen is survived by her husband, Sonny Dittrich of Dittmer, MO; by her sons, Matthew Dittrich of St. Clair, MO and Steven Dittrich and wife, Hannah, of Cedar Hill, MO; by her daughters, Colleen Dean and husband, Justin, of Potosi, MO and Kathleen Dittrich of Dittmer; by four brothers, James Culleton of St. Louis, MO, Michael Culleton and wife, June, of Cuba, MO, John Culleton of St. Louis and Thomas Culleton and wife, Shari, of St. Louis; by her sisters, Mary Ann McKechnie of Hyannis, NE and Catherine Askew of St. Louis; by her brother-in-law, Tom Dittrich and wife, Debbie, of St. Louis; by her grandchildren, Trinity, Hailey, Junior, Chase and Parker Dittrich of Cedar Hill and Brooklyn Dean of Potosi; by her best friends, Bridget Gabel of St. Louis and Sandy Franklin of Zalma, MO; by nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Eileen was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Genevieve Culleton, and by two brothers, Leo Jones and Vincent Culleton.

Eileen was a Christian of the Catholic faith and active member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Luebbering, MO. She was a member of the parish council and was also a long time PSR teacher at the church. She was a 1968 graduate of St. Alphonsus Liquori Rock Catholic High School in St. Louis, MO. During her working years, she was a supervisor at Western Union in St. Louis, MO, retiring after eighteen years of service to the company. Doing embroidery and crochet were some of her hobbies. She also liked collecting clocks and watching Hallmark movies on television. Eileen was especially fond of her pet pig named Sassy and her pet dog named Henry. What meant most to her was caring for her home and family. Her children and grandchildren held a very special place in her heart, as she did in their hearts. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will be cherished by them all forever.

A loving and devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with rosary services at 5:00 PM. Funeral mass was held at 10:00 AM Thursday, January 30, 2020 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Luebbering, MO with Father Bob Knight officiating. Interment was in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO. In lieu of flowers masses are preferred.
