George W. Bay was born in Ross County, state of Ohio, on Jan 12, 1837, passed to the Great Beyond on August 17, 1921, at the age of 87 yrs., 7 months, 5-days. Was united in matrimony to Jane Hunter, March 6, 1857.

To this union was bom six boys and two girls, as follows: John Bunion Bay, of Fort Collins, Colo.; Oscar Bay, of Gilmore City. Iowa; George Ellis Bay, of Diggins, Mo.; William Bay, of Flora, III.; Lewis M. Bay deceased; John A. Bay deceased; Amanda Bay deceased; one daughter dying In infancy.

He inlisted In the service of his country on Aug. 14,1862 with Lieut William H. Clements Co. G. 80th Regiment of Indiana, where he served faithfully for three years, to the expiration ot his time of service and was honorable discharged from service of the U. S. at Salisburg, N. C. June 22nd, 1965.

He accepted faith in Christ in the year ot 1876 by the Invitation of Bro. A. J. Cable. Later united with the Baptist church at Indian Prairie and later united with the United Brethren church at Harmony, where he served and worshiped his Christ until his untimely deatb.

He leaves to mourn his departure his aged wife, four sons, eighteen grandchildren, six great- grandchildren and a host of friends.
