She was united In marriage to Richard H. Pearce, Sept. 30, 1856, who preceded her in death some 33 years ago. To this union was born six Children: five sons and one daughter. The daughter, Liticia Johnson, having preceded her to a better land.
She leaves to mourn their loss five sons: Thomas Nelson, of Rantoul; Harry A. and Richard, of Flora; Alfred, of Rinard; Allison, of Flora, with whom she has made her home for some time, and one brother, John Nelson, of Wildwood, Pa.; twelve grandchildren and 21 great-grand children and other relatives and a host of friends.
She with her husband, came to Clay county. III., in 1866, and since that time has resided in this community.
She was converted at an early age and joined the Presbyterian church, remaining a member for some years, later Joining the M. E. South church, and remaining a member until nine years ago she united with Harmony
U. B. church, of which she remained a faithful member until God called her home.
She lived a devoted Christian life and was loved and respected by all who knew her, a kind wife, a loving mother and a good neighbor, and was always interested in the welfare of the community.

The funeral service was held at Harmony U. B. church Dec. 16 at one o'clock, Rev. A. B. Hiatt officiating. The body was later laid to rest beside her late husband at the Kneff cemetery, there to wait the resurrection morn.
