Henry Hudson Hardiman was born on October 17, 1870 in Tennessee, the son of John Thomas Hardiman (1842–1914) and Saphronia Poletha (Pamplin) Hardiman (1842–1908).

He was married 1st on October 17, 1886 in Giles County to Rebecca Yancey (17 Oct 1886-1904). He was married 2nd on October 22, 1904 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Sarah Loren Rose Day (1883–1933).

A former farmer in Giles County, Henry had been living with relatives at 135 Rains Avenue in Nashville since about 1942. He was 85 years old, a widower and had had a heart attack when he died on January 29, 1956 at Nashville General Hospital.

Survivors included daughters Esther (Hardiman) Cundall and Ethel (Hardiman) Collins of Nashville and sons John Clifford Hardiman of Nashville and Sylvester R Hardiman of Wisconsin.

Funeral Services were held at Cosmopolitan Funeral Home, and burial was on January 31st in Woodlawn Memorial Park in Nashville. {A phone call to Woodlawn Memorial Park administration on September 30, 2020 has verified that, in fact, Henry IS buried in that cemetery.}
