Franklin “Dea” Pigg, 84, life-long resident of Doniphan, Missouri, died Sunday, January 27, 2019, at The Manor in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

Mr. Pigg, son of Willie Allen and Dorothy Irene (Whitwell) Pigg, was born November 18, 1934, in Doniphan. He had worked at Vitronic Manufacturing for many years serving as a supervisor in the stitching department. Dea enjoyed playing checkers, horseshoes and going to drag races with his son, Gary. He had been a member of the Missouri National Guard for several years.

On April 28, 1956, he was married to Earnsteen Little at Doniphan and she survives.

Also surviving are two children: Gary Dea (Jeanette) Pigg and Rhoda Lynn (Willie) Bennett, both of Doniphan; one brother, Roy Elton Pigg of Doniphan; 3 grandchildren, Ethen (Lori) McGonigal, Josh (Priscilla) McGonigal and Caitlyn Pigg; six great-grandchildren, Connor McGonigal, MacKenzie McGonigal, Alaynah Barlow, Korbin Pigg, Kinsley McGonigal and Chase McGonigal; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Allen Pigg and Sherman Wayne Pigg; and one sister, Elsie Elizabeth Smith.

Visitation will be held Wednesday evening, January 30, 2019, from 5 – 8 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will take place Thursday afternoon, January 31, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Hubert Payne officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
