RIVERTON, KANSAS: Terry Edward Bond, age 71, passed away at 1:30 am,Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Legacy Living, Baxter Springs, KS following an illness.

Mr Bond was born December 14, 1948 in Joplin, MO. His parents were Edward and Juanita (Young) Bond. He was a lifetime area resident.

Terry was a graduate of Riverton High School. He began working at Gulf Chemical, Riverton, then he worked at Vicker’s , Joplin, for a number of years. He last worked for the City of Joplin as a groundskeeper at Schifferdecker Golf Course. He was a man that loved the outdoors. His favorite pastimes were golfing, fishing, and hunting.

Surviving are two sons, David Bond (wife, Dee), Galena, Kansas and James Bond, Galena, KS; two daughters, Shayna Johnson, Pittsburg, KS, and Tawnya Bond, Baxter Springs; 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren (with one on the way).

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, KS.

Private burial will be at a later date.
