Mrs. Chaffin died July 22, 2007, in a Tyler hospital.
She was born May 29, 1926, in Houston County to the late Louis M. and Minnie Creasy Hart. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Slocum. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arvil Brock Chaffin; son, Clarence Ray Chaffin; four sisters; and four brothers.
Survivors include sons, Joe Chaffin, Slocum, Frank Chaffin, Palestine, and Carroll Chaffin, Bullard; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Russell Johnson, Gary Lucius, Steven Evers, William Fletcher, Lynn Chaffin and Wayne Franklin.
