Obituary for William Charles Wheeler
BURIED IN HIS WEDDING SUIT
William Wheeler, living 4 miles southeast of town was kicked in the abdomen, last Friday by a mule he was driving out of its stall, inflecting fatal injuries. Dr. Cramer of this city, Dr. Brown of Hamilton, attended him, and did all in their to relieve his suffering, but the hurt was mortal, and death relieved him on Monday morning, the 26th. The injured man bore his suffering with great fortitude and was conscious almost to the end. He was about 28 years of age and leaves a wife to whom he was married on last New Years day. She being the youngest daughter of William Sparks, of Davis township. The remains were laid to rest in Black Oak Cemetery, Tuesday, being followed to the grave by a large concourse of morning relatives and friends. The suit in which the remains were interred was the same worn by Mr. Wheeler at his wedding less than ten months ago.
"Bill" as he was familiarly called, was an upright industrious, sociable and a big-hearted young man, who worked hard, attended to his business and was a friend to all. He was an excellent neighbor and friend a good son and brother, a kind and affectionate husband. As an evidence of his loving care, we understand his widow will receive the proceeds of a life insurance policy he was carrying, amounting to $2,00.00.
"Be ye therefore ready for in an hour that ye know not, the son of man cometh"

William, Great uncle of Donnie Ruyle
