"Kathleen H. Helmuth Marvin, 78, of 294 Harvard Ave., Palmerton, died Thursday, Aug. 1, in Palmerton Hospital. She was the wife of the late John B. Helmuth.
She and her husband operated the former Helmuth Furniture Store, Aquashicola, and were the chief operating officers of the former Towamensing Mutual Fire Insurance Co., Aquashicola.
Born in Hellertown, she was a daughter of the late Stanley B. and Mayme (Sloan) Landis.
She was a board member and a former board secretary of Pencor Services Inc., a Palmerton telephone company.
She was a member of First United Church of Christ, Palmerton.
She was a graduate of the former Kutztown Normal School, now Kutztown University.
She was a member of John W. Luther Chapter 365, Order of the Eastern Star, Palmerton.
Survivors: Daughter, Karen, wife of Dr. Jan Gulden of Palmerton; son, Charles Helmuth of Richmond, Ky.; sisters, Mrs. Marjorie Strauss of New Mahoning, Carbon County, and Madeline, wife of Russell Lerch of Ardsley, Montgomery County; brother Stanley of Downingtown, Chester County, and five grandchildren.
