ESTES, Ellen - Died October 26, 2003 in Sunnyview Manor Retirement Home after a lengthy illness. Ellen was born December 18, 1910 in Lewisburg, OH, to Robert and Goldie Bunger. In 1929, Ellen went to Dayton, OH to work as a telephone operator. There she met John B. Estes and was married in 1945. Later that year they moved to San Francisco, CA and lived in the Sunset District. She went to work for Pacific Bell and worked in the Bush Street office until she retired in 1972. In 1980, she and her husband, moved to Sunnyview Manor in Cupertino, CA. Ellen was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Ideal Chapter No. 293 in Lewisburg, OH, and the Telephone Pioneers of America Chapter No. 27. Ellen is survived by a stepson, John H. Estes, and numerous nieces and nephews. Her brothers, David Bunger, Samual Bunger, Burton Bunger, & sister, Marianna Keown preceded her in death. Arrangements under the direction of the Los Altos Chapel of Spangler Mortuaries, 399 So. San Antonio Rd, Los Altos.
